Mrs. Agnes Powell
Adult Day Training Supervisor
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
My name is Mrs. Agnes, I am grateful to have been serving the students and clients of the Marian Center for over 28 years. Teaching and learning
from my students has molded me into the person I am today. They are a blessing in my life.
I teach different subjects including life skills, daily living and social skills. My passion is healing arts. The healing arts are creative practices that
promote healing, wellness, coping and personal change. Traditional healing arts include yoga, dance/movement, poetry/writing and art. My
classes include yoga, water aerobics and aromatherapy. Yoga can be beneficial for individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions through both the physical postures and breathwork. Each pose can be modified or adapted to meet the needs of the student. It can
improve flexibility, strength and balance. In addition yoga reduces anxiety an stress.
MY GOALS: My goal is to continue to educate myself in the different aspects of healing arts so that I can implement
them into my classroom activities.
